Michael Brannan

Michael Brannan has been an improviser since near the turn of the century, following a love of comedy and storytelling from the distant eastern land of Spokane, WA, to Bellingham. A former member of the nationally recognized Dead Parrots Society at WWU, Michael has been a member of the Upfront since 2016 when the theatre was all the way down on Bay St. They bring a love of storytelling, genre fiction, and emotionally charged connections to scenes, as well as a not-so-secret love of the physical absurdity of Painprov. Outside of the Upfront, Michael can be found performing (and writing and directing) with the Idiom Theatre, "the hardest working theatre in the country". Besides theatrical delights both improvised and scripted, Michael also enjoys tabletop RPGs, cooking, and a mix of foreign dramas and gonzo horror films. You can catch them improvising most Saturdays, especially if it's Hellingham season.
