Level 3 Advanced Games

Service Description

In this 8-week Level 3 course, you’ll build upon the fundamentals of improv and start sharpening your comedic instincts through more elaborate improv games. This class, focusing on short form improv games, will introduce you to more elaborate and challenging games, while also teaching you WHY games work and how to most effectively play them. You’ll strengthen core improv skills such as listening, heightening choices, and exploring strong character development - While also learning to view performances from the 'meta level.' This class focuses on making bold, clear decisions and supporting your scene partners. You’ll continue developing quick thinking, emotional commitment, and physical awareness while learning how to turn solid scene work into consistently engaging game performances! This class will culminate in a showcase performance. Class: Mondays, March 16 - May 11, 6-8PM 8-Weeks Included: 3/16, 3/23, 3/30, [4/6 no class], 4/13, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11 Showcase: Saturday, May 16, 5:50PM Instructor: Jesse Prerequisites: Completion of Level 2. About the Instructor Jesse discovered improv in early 2008 and swiftly fell in love with the art form. He has since performed and taught at various festivals and theaters across the Western United States and Canada. He is a founding board member of the widely-lauded Wasatch Improv Festival, as well as half of the award-winning improv duo "Murder Fairy & Arson Leprechaun" (Audience Choice, Downtown Las Vegas Improv Festival). He hopes to use both his experience and passion for improv to inspire others to pursue this wonderful craft!
