Class: Solid Scenes, Level 3 Dates: Mondays, July 15- Sept. 9; no class Sept. 2 Time: 6:00- 8:00pm Showcase: Thursday, September 12th at 7:30pm Instructor: Gillian Myers Prerequisites: completion of Intermediate Spontaneity (Level 2) Note: Must be 18 or older to attend this class. In this level 3 foundation class, students will gain a complete understanding of how a scene works, discovering and practicing all the details that come together to make our scenes great. We will focus on character driven scenes that hone in on specific skills such as character development and dynamics, object work, scene starts, stage presence, and playfulness. Students will study concepts like the rhythm of a scene, the arc of a scene, and being in the moment. This class will culminate in a showcase during the G.B.U on Thursday, September 12th as a part of the first GBU of the season. About the Instructor: Gillian Myers is a trained improviser, actor, and writer with a love for collaboration, discovery, and play. She has been teaching and performing with the Upfront Theatre since 2014. Gillian enjoys working with people of all ages and skills levels, supporting folks in finding excellence and joy on their improv journey.
