Service Description

Class: Intermediate Spontaneity, Level 2 Dates: Mondays, April 15- June 10, no class May 27 Time: 6- 8pm Showcase: Saturday, June 15 at 5pm Instructor: Seth Thomson Prerequisites: Completion of "Intro to Spontaneity" or written permission from the education director. Note: Must be 18 or older to attend this class. Through exercises and games, students will come to understand the building blocks of a scene and how to implement them, while continuing to gain a fuller understanding of the improv basics learned in the previous class. This class will explore and expand on concepts like “Yes, and,” storytelling, thinking quickly, scene work basics, miming, active listening, character development, and stage presence. Students will complete this class with an understanding of what makes improvisation successful (and fun!), and will walk away with the tools to make improvised magic happen! This class will culminate in a student showcase, Saturday June 15 at 5pm About the instructor: Seth Thomson is a writer, actor and comic who is inspired to share improv's limitless magic. He has been working and performing at The Upfront since 2016, producing shows, teaching and leading our student practice jam. Seth is passionate about guiding others to unlock their inherent powers of intuition and transformation through play.
