Through exercises and games, students will come to understand the building blocks of a scene and how to implement them, while continuing to gain a fuller understanding of the improv basics learned in the previous class. This class will explore and expand on concepts like “Yes, and,” storytelling, thinking quickly, scene work basics, miming, active listening, character development, and stage presence. Students will complete this class with an understanding of what makes improvisation successful (and fun!), and will walk away with the tools to make improvised magic happen! This class will culminate in a student showcase Saturday August 12th. About the instructor: Seth Thomson is a writer, actor and comic who is inspired to share improv's limitless magic. He has been working and performing at The Upfront since 2016, producing shows, teaching and leading our student practice jam.
